Raygirl of Windchill tribe

It's Raygirl! Only perhaps not what you expected

This Raygirl is somewhat different to the avatar I use around DA. The normal Raygirl is more or less an extention of my own personality in Limbless form.

But this is the Raygirl of the DSF world created by , who is quite a lot different from her carefree counterpart.

So here's the basics of her backstory:

No one is really sure how a limbless being like Raye ended up on Mobius, or if there are others of her species there too. In the uproar caused by Robotnic's takeover very little information remains of her species' history, or where they came from...but there are legends of Robotnic trying to harness the power of alternative dimentions, and opening doorways into those dimentions to drag unsuspecing creatures through for his own experimentation.

Whatever her origins Raye (with a small group of her species) found herself caught up with the Cobalt tribe, a rebel band of Echidnas who had excaped the takeover by Robotnic and fled to thrive in the Windchill Ranges (later the Cobalt Tribe join up with the Saint Borealis House of Echidnas to form the Windchill tribe, hence the name). Their leader Benjii Carmichael, whose family and elders were killed in the violence, seemed to take an instant interest in Raye, and she in him. He saw her as a gentle being of power and patience, and she saw him as a non-judgemental, noble warrior.

While the rest of Raye's travelling companions moved on to goodness knows where, Raye stayed behind to become Benjii's life partner, an act severly frowned upon by many traditionalist tribe members who naturally saw her as an outsider. Despite this Benjii and Raye remain devoted to eachother, and their love sets an example for the evolution of understanding and acceptance of inter-species pairings within the tribe. Raye adores her husband, and would do anything in her power for him. She is also slowly learning to take her position as a leaders wife in her stride, and gaining respect through her actions and words.

Like my avatar, this Raygirl has fire powers and she's not afraid to use them. She is a little more demure and understated as opposed to the regular Raye, but at all times she is loyal to her friends and devoted to her husband. because of her abnormal body structure Raye wears long robes (seen here) that cover up her missing body parts. Very few people have seen her dressed any other way, some don't even realise she's limbless at all.

The Tattoo on her stomach not only signifies her status as an honarary Echidna of the Cobalt/Windchill Tribe, but also link her to her husband Benjii, the tribe leader, thus making her by proxy an alpha female of sorts despite her species. The gold band on her wrist (should be her right wrist, bugger) is another symbol of her pairing, while the black band marks her as a non-echidna tribe-member.

Raye is about half the size of a normal Echidna, but doesn't seem to have any trouble making herself heard. When talking doesn't work a good fireball to the crotch will get anyone's attention. Raye can take a good battering, handy in a tribe of volatile males and feisty females, despite her stature, and can hold her own in a fight by being agile and very light on her feet. And there's always the fire powers

Originally Raye is very much troubled by the arrival of Vee-Jay, who comes to the Windchill tribe to train herself and focus her deadly fighting streak. Not only does Vee not make herself welcome by giving Raye's beloved husband a bruised chin on their first encounter, Raye is also troubled by reports from a certain Magellan Lee Zalinski about Vee's violent nature. While Raye knows better than to trust the world of some hopeless dispicable twat like Magellan, Vee's initial attack on Benjii does give her cause for doubt.

The two have a somewhat rocky start, but after Vee proves herself a loyal warrior Raye starts to warm to her and the two become as close as family, to the point where the pair promice to care for eachother's children should anything happen to either of them. Raye appreciates Vee's open minded nature, and sees her as non-judgemental like her husband. She she can respect, and even through she will always see Vee as a little sister of sorts she can also see her as a force to be reconed with, and a great ally.
