Anywho, I'm finally getting round to drawing my Curiah City charcters as hoomin-beans, and while these two aren't the best drawings I've done for far, I felt I needed to post up everyone in order of 'importance'

...so really Bernie should be together with Pete....BUT ANWAY...SHUT UP THERE IS A SYSTEM TO MY MADNESS.

so here's all the scoop about the new-look Curiah City gang. There are some big differences to the characters from their mumu incarnations, and more development into their motivations and personalities.

Name: Bernard Lance Caine

Occupation: Pub landlord
Likes: Drinking, girls clothes, new faces, debating, kickboxing, judo, yoga, cricket, the colour pink, pub crawls, drinking games, action movies, karoke, chocolate pudding, curry.
Dislikes: Dogs (animals in general), people mistaking him for a girl, clumsy flirting, wire-fu movies, american football, american football fans, getting dirt on his clothes, asparagus, tuxedos.

The bubbly, friendly and open-minded boss of the Janus Arms, an English style public drinking house in the city's Chinatown district, Bernie is somewhat of a legend in his neighbourhood for his firm ideologies and welcoming demenor. Being a transvestite Bernie has had to deal with a lot of flack for how he chooses to dress and look, including being shunned from his own home by his father. But this didn't get our Bernie down. Instead he got a job working under Arnham Stikes at the Janus Arms (more info on the pub can be found here [link]) and learnt to defend himself through kickboxing and judo lessons, becoming a barman who is respected as much as he is feared. Bernie may look quite daity and light as boys go, but his body is almost 99% toned muscle. He will quite happily kick your teeth in, brain you with a bat and throw you out the pub door should you piss him off.

Despite having a firm hand (and sometimes a Cricket bat) Bernie is the first person to let his hair down and have some fun, and he will go out of his way to make people feel welcome, in partcular making those who are shunned from other places in society feel at home in his pub. He's stubborn and can be very hot tempered, but at the same time he is a great listener, moral and feircely loyal.

Unlike his mumu character, human Bernie's wardrobe is a LOT less frilly. He doesn't wear as many petticoats and frills as he used to (though that not to say he won't drag them out Grayson Perry style for special occations) instead opting for more subtle yet still feminine garb.

At the end of the day Bernie is still the spirited and warm pub landlord we all know and love. While not as overly flamboyant as before he will still let himself go when relaxing with his friends, and isn't one to turn down a few drinking games. He keeps his balance of boyish activities (rough sports and video games) aligned with his feminine side (shopping and general pampering) making him popular with boys and girls of various orientations.

Dislikes: Thunder storms, people not liking her, being late, squid, having to dress formally, being ill, being tickled, scary movies.

Easily dismissed as another stupid blonde bimbo, goodnatured Riski happily trots through life oblivious of the scorn of others. In Riski's world all people are good and nice until proven otherwise, and this has been both a blessing as a curse for her. True it's meant that she's picked up some completely rotten friends and boyfriends in the past thanks to her endless desire to please and be liked...but at the same time that led her to Bernie and new, much better friends.

Despite being quite naive and simplistic, Riski isn't stupid by any means. She's actually extremely well read (her favourite books include Rebecca and Captain Corelli's Mandolin) and well spoken. This often leads her to spout lines from books that often inspire and guide those she's talking to. While not really having much life advice of her own to give, usually she can give advice through what she's learnt from reading. Riski is more likely to be seen reading in a quiet coffee shop instead of hitting the mall or hottie-spotting at the beach (though she does enjoy these activities too!).

Unlike her mumu/fairy/catgirlthingy form Riski doesn't have star patterns anymore. The only natural star pattern she has is over her eyes...THE REST ARE TATTOOS her birthmark has never really bothered her, and has in fact earnt her a reputation through her job as a magazine model as a good role model for people with similar marks.

Riski doesn't have a malicious bone in her body. Her endless enthusiasm and cheer can lead her into trouble, but more often people are taken back by her innocence and sweet nature. Plus she has her beloved boyfriend Bernie there to keep her out of most trouble, and she is utterly devoted to him in return.

Note: never...EVER challenge Riski to a game of Scrabble...because she WILL own your ass.
